Hey folks! 😄 You know what Google employees and Tinder dates have in common? Neither stick around for very long! 🤣 Yep, you heard it right. Your average American employee stays with their company for about 4.1 years. Meanwhile, our Googler friends? They’re out in just 1.1 years. 🏃‍♂️💨

“Why on Earth,” you ask? Isn’t Google supposed to be the ‘It Girl’ of workplaces? What’s with their legendary perks, heavenly meals, and literal 3 million job applications every year! What’s pushing the Googlers away? Are there skeletons in Google’s closet, or do people just level up super fast post-Google? 🧐

Today, we’re sleuthing out the reasons behind Google’s retention issues, based on what former Google employees had to say. 💡

1. The Perk Trap:

Let’s kick off with a TikTok that went viral this year. Ken Wox, an ex-Googler, explained how the wonderful perks are more like bait. It’s a clever marketing ploy to lure employees in and make them work longer hours.
